How to Guide - Roast a Leg of LambOne of the biggest mistakes in roasting a Leg of Lamb is starting it at too high at temperature. You should start it at 200˚C for the first 20-25 minutes and then turn it down to 160˚C for the remainder. A good guide is using one of our pop up timers just ask any of the staff in one of our stores. If you would like your leg to have a crispy skin jut seal it on a hot pan before putting it into the oven. If you want something different why not try marinating the lamb. Try our garlic and herb marinade (link to store) or add a sprig of rosemary. Marinade for 30 minutes before cooking. After lamb is cooked leave to rest for 15-20 minutes to rest. If you carve too quickly you will lose a lot of the juices and the meat will be tougher. Leg of lamb is a tender cut is it is best cooked medium/rare. |
